On a desert dune the sands moves slow.
Suns rise and set, and now she knows
Too much she asked from one she loves,
Too hard a task to rise above.
The silence carries her away
Remembering all the words to say.
But nothing really comes to mind
The quiet evening, all she’ll find.
She sees his face, is swept away.
She cares too much to hurt this way.
So gently she removes the weight,
Surrenders him unto his fate.
For like the tiny grains of sand
Her destination never planned.
She dreams again that come one day
He wakes to carry her away.
